Our Mission
Chromation was founded to commercialize photonic crystal spectral sensor technology. Our vision is to bring laboratory capabilities to handheld, wearable, and integrated form factors. Bringing these capabilities down market does more than increase access to information, it has the potential to change how we interact with our environments.
Chromation has an exclusive license to issued US patents 8,854,624 and 9,366,571 held by Columbia University in addition to other IP. Chromation’s technology roadmap includes a chip-scale implementation which will further reduce size and cost to enhance integration opportunities.

Our Team
Dave Buse - CEO
Dave is a highly experienced business executive with strong CEO, GM, Sales & Ops experience, working in both large public companies and tech startups. He received his undergraduate degree from the USAF Academy and his MBA from UCLA. 
Nadia Pervez - COO
Nadia brings her deep knowledge of Chromation's technology and experience in nanofabrication, electronics, and optics, to direct Chromation's operations. She received her PhD in Electrical Engineering from UCSB. 
Tanya Cruz Garza - Director of Fabrication
Tanya brings her expertise with novel process development and wafer scale fabrication to lead Chromation's photonic crystal optical component fabrication and die quality control efforts. She received her PhD from MIT in Aerospace Engineering. |
Ioannis (John) Kymissis - CTO
John relies on his diverse sensor technology and integration experience to create Chromation's technical roadmap. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from MIT, and is also an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University. 
Michael Gazes - Director of Design
Mike's experience in design, rapid prototyping, and measurement allows him to lead Chromation's design and characterization efforts. He received his MS in Electrical Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. |
